What advantages does DMH have when used as chlorine stabeliser?

The use of DMH allows up to 50% less chlorine/bleach dosage while at the same time increasing bio-control effectiveness.

Because less chlorine bleach is dosed, the unwanted side reactions are greatly reduced. The formation of disinfection in products (DBP), such as AOX (absorbable halogenated Organics) can be reduced almost to zero if used correctly and depending on the system.

The lower dosage of chlorine also greatly reduces corrosion in the cooling system, prevents the breakdown of expensive water treatment products and often makes the use of dispersants unnecessary.

The DMH/chlorine bleach approach, unlike chlorine bleach alone which does not penetrate biofilm, is very effective in removing and controlling biofilm in the cooling system. DMH therefore has various advantages.
