Why is beach used in water cooling systems?
Chlorine bleach (English: bleach - French: eaux de Javel) has hypochlorous acid (HOCl) and hypochlorite (OCl-) as the active ingredients.
These molecules are very reactive, highly oxidative and are amongst the most effective, widely used and best known industrial biocides.
It's use prevents the development of bacterial slime in cooling water and ensures a clean, safe and energy-efficient cooling system.
It has recently been discovered that this hypochlorous acid also plays an important role in the human immune system. It is produced in-situ by white blood cells in very low concentrations to kill germs.
