In principle, the DMH/hypo approach is applicable to any cooling system that uses sodium hypochlorite (javel/bleach). In almost all cases a significant reduction in Na-hypochlorite consumption is possible with associated benefits (including reduction of AOX formation, lower corrosion).
Whether the results for a specific system are sufficient/ satisfactory depends on the predetermined success criteria.
In any case, before considering more complex/ expensive programs like ClO2 or monochloramine (MCA), it is wise to evaluate and consider what the DMH/hypo approach could bring.
